In-service Death
In case of In-service death of government employee, Family Pension at enhanced rates will be payable for 10 years, irrespective of Age e.g. if the employee expires at the age of 59 years then Family Pension at enhanced rates will be payable till the deceased employee would have attained the age of 69 years.

Death of Pensioner
In case of Death of Pensioner, Family Pension at enhanced rates will be payable for 7 years from the Date of Death or till the deceased pensioner would have attained the age of 67 years whichever is earlier, irrespective of Type of Retirement, Date of Retirement and Age of Superannuation. This would equally apply in all Central Civil Government Departments/Offices including CAPF and Medical officers.

Retiree who chooses either of the following options:

• I will be residing in non-CGHS area but would be availing CGHS facility for In-patient Department (IPD) and Out-patient Department (OPD) treatment. I will not be eligible for FMA.
• I will be residing in a non-CGHS area but would be availing CGHS facility for IPD treatment only by payment of CGHS contributions. I will also avail FMA for OPD treatment.
• I will be residing in a CGHS area and would be availing CGHS facility.

The retiree must log in to the Bhavishya portal

• Go to Services → CGHS Card Services
• Click on “Login/Apply for CGHS Card”

Retiree will be redirected to the CGHS website, where CGHS application form shall be pre-filled with Bhavishya verified data.

Retiree can review and modify the details, if required, in the form as per CGHS rules, and then submit the application.

After successful approval of the application from concerned Additional Director (CGHS), a payment link will be sent to the retiree and after successful online payment of the prescribed CGHS contribution through the integrated BharatKosh payment gateway, the CGHS Pensioner Card shall be generated.

The approved CGHS Pensioner Card may be downloaded through both the CGHS Portal and the Bhavishya Portal
